Faith Mebli is a professional wood carver from Columbus, Indiana. She is a self-taught woodworker, who has been carving for over 20 years. Faith was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age. Despite having had multiple hand surgeries, Faith continues to create detailed works of art. Using what some might view as a disadvantage as an advantage and sculpting wood only by hand with traditional wood chisels and chip knives. 

Faith has several bodies of work that are intended to evoke different perspectives and emotions from the viewers. But for Faith wood carving is about the process. She will tell you why she uses certain species of wood, the woods' properties, or how to read the woods' grain. Whether the work makes you laugh, cry or reminds you of a childhood memory is left up to the viewer.
